About Ameroth

What is Ameroth?

Ameroth is a painted browser MMORPG — a painted fantasy world you play straight from a tab, no download, on desktop or mobile. Over 300 stitched maps span five kingdoms, from the green shires to the smoking cinderpeaks. Explore, fight, craft, trade, join a guild, and follow a story-driven campaign through a realm that remembers what you've done.

It's free to play. Cosmetics and convenience may be sold down the line, but power never is.

How it plays

Combat is fought with a deck. Spend action points, play your hand, and roll 2d6 to resolve — quick once you know your cards, deep once you don't. Pick a vocation — Knight, Paladin, Sorcerer or Druid — level weapon disciplines from blade to wand, and gear up from common iron to legendary relics.

Everything persists server-side and grows between sessions: your character, your professions, your companions, your home. Hire allies at the tavern, master the bestiary, and take your deck into ranked arena duels against real players.

The world

Five painted kingdoms make up the mainland, wrapped in a live day/night cycle and drifting weather. Beyond the map lie premium islands: Goldhollow's sun-baked terraces over a goblin-riddled dwarven deep, Stormcrown's frozen ascent to a citadel in the sky — with more of the Sundered Reach still to surface.

The realm is shared. World events, invasions and warfronts pull everyone online toward the same goal, and the wilderness spawns the same nodes and monsters for all.

Roadmap

Ameroth is in alpha. The realm is playable now behind a passcode; open beta is the next gate. Already shipped and live: seven weapon disciplines, the crafting and gathering loop, guilds and housing, live world events, and one-click sign-in with Discord or Twitch.

In the works right now

• A bigger, walkable world. Every region is being rebuilt as one large painted map you walk freely across: hills you climb by their steps, rivers crossed on stone and timber bridges, farms behind Nordic roundpole fences, and the ways out to the wilderness spread to the far corners of each land.
• The painted look, everywhere. The whole realm — world, menus and these pages — is moving to one painted style drawn from old Nordic fairy tales: mossy stone, deep forests, lantern light.
• Characters that move. Heroes are becoming figures that turn and walk the way they travel, stand idle and sit, with colours you choose; more monsters and bosses are getting full animation in combat.
• A living landscape. Grass that sways and parts around your feet, water that ripples and shines, and wildlife wandering the meadows.

After that: more islands, deeper questlines and mysteries, a maturing player-driven economy, and the polish pass toward launch. Want in when beta opens? Put your name on the list — we'll send one ping when the gate lifts.

Who's making it

Ameroth is built by a small independent team, in the open. The news is the running record of what ships each week — no roadmap theatre, just the raw pulse of an alpha finding its shape. Every map, sprite and card is made for this world.

Community

The realm has a tavern out of game too. Join the Discord to follow development, report bugs, swap builds, and find a guild before launch.
